Role of Learning Environment in Teaching Your Child How to Write
It’s often seen that learning
environment plays a great role in determining how young children will view
learning as which ultimately impacts the entire course of their development.
If you are parent or
tutor have you noticed the moment you leave them outside the school gates or
classroom their excitement dies down? Why is that so? Also have you noticed
that when you tell them ‘let’s do something fun today or let’s play a game’
instead of ‘let’s start learning’ they just get boosted up?
Similar is the case
when it comes to learning handwriting
for kids too! The more fun it is the more they will enjoy!
Nurturing
their Inquisitiveness
Young kids are always
full of queries and like to ask questions about anything and everything new
they see around them. Therefore, just encourage them and let them discover and
explore new things so that they can learn and develop with each passing day. Couple
handwriting worksheets and exercises relating to it with their enthusiasm to
learn and discover. This will be a great way to help them learn to write.
Do
Away with Rigidity
Young children cannot
be bound with rules and fixed ways. You have to constantly try out new ways and
discover new means to constantly help and guide them to learn. In order to improve handwriting skills
in them make them learn to form letters in different ways and means like
learning to form the letters with coloured dough, building blocks, small
pebbles etc. Also do not make them learn anything forcefully. Just let them be
relaxed, energetic and make them more involved in learning by making it
attractive.
Let
Him Lead You
It often happens that
while making children learn parents and teachers lead and children become the
passive recipients of that process. But why not allow them to take the lead?
Yes! You read it absolutely right! You should be a facilitator who would help
them learn what they want to. For example, you can just make them choose if
they would like to learn inside the classroom or go outside and learn the names
of different flowers sitting in the garden? Or you can also ask them if they
would like to count the number of roses they see in the garden. Then you can
prepare customized handwriting
worksheets and make them write the letter ‘R’! Isn’t it exciting?
Environment
at Home Matters too!
Kids
spent most of the times at home and so it is very important that the environment
there is full of love, affection and warmth. Kids have to be dealt with great
care and they learn from whatever they see. Therefore, if the members of the
family and their near and dear ones do not themselves stay together with
happiness and peace, child’s mental and physical health is disturbed. This also
gets reflected in their learning how
to write neatly and developing in a stable manner. Therefore, it also
becomes the primary responsibility of all parents and family members to raise a
child with great care, affection and responsibility.
