Developing a careful lesson plan to introduce alphabets to your child
In order to make your child learn how to
write the alphabets in a proper manner you must also prepare a comprehensive
plan to introduce the alphabets to him in a gradual manner. You must understand
as parents that your child is completely new to all learning and hence it will be
very difficult for him to grasp if you do not proceed in a planned manner.
Therefore, use the most interesting and
carefully designed handwriting practicesheet and
teach your child in an efficient manner.
Start with prewriting exercises
Your child is at a very tender age and his muscular strength
and motor skills are yet to develop properly. So, in order to strengthen his
hands so that he can hold the writing tool well with his hands and also carry
out subsequent hand movements, hand lifts etc. it is necessary to make him work
on some prewriting exercises.
You can make him lift objects of different dimensions to
develop a good grasping power, let him make different shapes with molds of
colored dough or can make him to button or unbutton his shirt.
You can also pour some marbles on a tray and give him a
container. Then you can ask him to take out the marbles one by one and then ask
him to put them in the container. Such exercises will help a lot in teaching how to improve handwriting.
Teach
him the correct hold and grip
Once you have devoted enough time
to make your child develop his motor skills it’s time to teach him how to develop
a good posture, grip and hold. This is important that unless a child learns to
hold the writing tool properly, he will not be able to write well and instead
he will develop painful pressure points and his writing will suffer.
So, it becomes a necessity to teach
your child the correct way to hold the writing tool with his index finger and
thumb, supported by the middle finger. He must sit upright without bending and keep
his non writing hand in front, up on the paper while writing.
Developing the correct grip is very
necessary to prevent a child from writing in a poor and ugly manner. With the
most carefully designed handwriting
worksheets you can start working on his correct grip and hold formations
too.
Teach him to draw several types of lines and shapes
By teaching your child to form
different types of lines, curves, shapes etc. you can make your child learn how
to form the different shapes of letter. The different types of letters will
ultimately be very easy to learn if you teach your child how to from the
different shapes.
All letters have different lines,
strokes, shapes etc. as their formations, by teaching these, you can make your
child already acquainted with them. This will also be beneficial in teaching cursive writing for kids and handwriting learning will be all full of fun!
Therefore,
in this manner you can now slowly introduce the alphabets to your child and
make him learn how to write well as he grows up and develops.
